I had bought it based on very good reviews and ratings but it is making very bad noise.
I received it yesterday (9 March, 2021) and it was installed by an electrician today. Fan was manufactured in December, 2020.
After installation, it started making noise as soon as it was switched on. Electrician tried to find the cause and said that the noise is coming from the motor.
I had bought one Orient Apex FX this week, before buying this fan. I had to return that fan because that too was making humming noise just after installing.
Around 2 years ago, I had bought one Orient Apex Fx fan and it is still working fine. I should have got the Orient fan repaired by Orient instead of returning that and then spending Rs.1000 more on this and getting more problems. More than Rs. 3000 have already been wasted in trying to get a properly working fan.
Not going to return this one and will try to get it fixed by Havells. Because so much time and money gets wasted when you return. You have to pay the electrician for first installing the fan and then uninstalling and then installing again. And after uninstalling, you have to pack everything again, and try to make sure that you have packed everything and then return.
I am not sure what is wrong. It is such a pain. Cannot say more. I have attached a short clip.
Update 12-March-2021 – I registered a complaint with Havells and it was handled within 48 hours, which is good. The problem was that the ring inside was not fit property. Tells you about quality check. After this the knocking sound stopped. After the service engineer had just left, other noise started coming. Actually, this noise was there from the start but because of knocking sound, it could not be heard. Called the service engineer again and he said the problem might be with the motor and motor might need to be replaced now, so I have to wait for a few days.
Update 20-March-2021: Motor was replaced with what appeared to be an old motor but that sparking kind of noise still remains, after switching the fan on and also at slower speeds. Noise is very irritating but I have given up now. Havells should have replaced the fan after they could not fix this new fan, but they did not. Very poor service. Otherwise fan runs at a very good speed and air throw is good. But the noise because of poor quality check…
