This was my first Lodge cast iron cookware. And I have recently picked up many Indian cast Iron cookware which are brilliant as well. But the quality and finish of Lodge products is a cut above the rest. While I am super please with transitioning to cast iron cookware, I am super excited with Lodge products. The price is on the higher side on account of freight and custom charges otherwise even with the exchange rate of USD it’s a great value for money had it not been for the additional charges. Remember to be patient to season any cast iron cookware for a lifetime of exciting cooking.
If the Lodge company gives special discount on sets and combos I will buy them all. Past. Keep a watch out for discounts and you can get lucky. Bought other Lodge cast iron cookware on special offers.
Super cool for making Eggs and Omelettes totally nonstick and slides right off the skillet. Love every minute cooking with this skillet.

As described. Great for other cooking as well. as tortillas

Great heat distribution/retention, good searing and the pre-seasoning is great as a novice using cast iron. Easy to maintain. Only few small issues like the handle being a little short and clumsy to use without the sleeve.

It works very well. I tried making dosas whilst using it for the first time. Cast iron or earthen cookware is not new to me. I’ve been using both for years. But I’ve never managed making dosas on them so far. So I was a bit sceptical about how well they would turn out. This was my first purchase from lodge brand. I washed the pan with mild liquid dish soap. Dried it who a cloth and immediately smeared it with oil. Then attempted my first dosa, which got stuck towards the center. But from the second one onwards it worked beautifully and towards the end Iwas able to make thin crispy ones too.
Loved the product. A bit pricey, however, it seems really durable!

I’ve using this everyday since a month, it’s working fine in terms of durability , it has to be seasoned every time u wash it. Sturdiness is good. Value for money – it’s very expensive.
The only problem there is a problem oil seeps to the sides of the pan, in the middle food gets stuck so adjusting flame n the pan has to be continuously done while cooking and u hv to add oil also so that food doesn’t stick in between .. otherwise it’s good for tawa fries. Roti and paratha gets a little hard when u cook, perfect for dosa and fries. Also a handle cover is imp or else chances r the that you burn urself

Cooking with cast iron is an art. I had previously used lodge cast iron sauce pan and it was very easy to maintain and use. I had assumed a similar experience with this dosa girdle as well. But, this needs a bit of patience. First time i tried dosa it stuck to my pan for the entire morning. I was in half a mind to return it when i went through the reviews below. Someone mentioned that it worked for them after oiling it and letting it get very hot till steam rose.
So, once a day, for two days i oiled the pan, and heated it till smoke started rising. On third day i again heated it with a little bit of oil and dabbed it across the pan. The dosas started coming put beautifully. No extra oil was needed and compared to non-stick it consumes very less oil while making dosas. Must have for better iron absorption, but need to treat it with patience and love and will definitely get great results. It is long lasting too, so definitely worth the additional cost over India made brands.

Star lodge product for the Indian household. Give it anything – rotis, omelette, dosa, pancake, crepe, kababs, cutlets it can handle them all. Doesn’t take ages to heat up. Rotis don’t burn easily on this. Works on Induction. What else would you need? Only few cons in my opinion.
1)heavier than most tawas
2)handle gets really hot and can be dangerous
3)expensive to the hilt. You could buy 5 to 6 Indian Tawas for that money.
Maintenance is the same that we do for all iron Tawas at home. Don’t soak. Don’t scrub it like crazy to wash. Maintain a decent cleanliness and keep it oiled. Season once in a while. Enjoy good healthy food.

Cast iron, the unsung hero of the kitchen, stands as a testament to culinary prowess and timeless durability. Picture this: a heavy, black skillet that seems to hold centuries of secrets in its seasoned surface. Cast iron cookware is the kitchen’s equivalent of a trusty sidekick, always ready to tackle any culinary challenge with gusto.
But what makes cast iron so great, you ask? Well, for starters, its unparalleled heat retention capabilities ensure that your food cooks evenly and stays warmer for longer. Whether you’re searing a steak to perfection or frying up a batch of crispy chicken, cast iron delivers mouthwatering results every time.
And the versatility! Oh, the versatility! From stovetop to oven to grill, cast iron can handle it all. It’s your go-to pan for sautéing, frying, baking, and even roasting. Plus, it’s naturally non-stick once properly seasoned, making cleanup a breeze.
Now, when it comes to buying cast iron, there are a few things to keep in mind. Look for pans with a smooth cooking surface and sturdy construction. Avoid any pans with rough patches or uneven edges, as these can affect cooking performance.
Caring for your cast iron is a labor of love, but oh-so-rewarding. After each use, simply wipe it clean with a paper towel or soft cloth, then rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly. Never use soap, as it can strip away the pan’s seasoning. Instead, use a stiff brush or scraper to remove any stubborn bits of food. To maintain its non-stick surface, rub a thin layer of oil onto the pan after each use and store it in a dry place.
Now, let’s talk about the pièce de résistance: the Lodge round cast iron pan. This beauty is exactly what you need for making delicious tortillas. Its perfectly even heating ensures that each tortilla comes out golden and crispy, with just the right amount of char. Plus, its generous size means you can cook up a whole stack of tortillas at once, perfect for feeding a hungry crowd or simply indulging in a taco Tuesday feast all by yourself. So, if you’re ready to elevate your tortilla game to new heights, look no further than the Lodge round cast iron pan. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.

This is the worst I could have done with my money in kitchen appliances. The tawa burns products in center, the picture shared is the seventh dosa, still breaks.. very heavy, handle gets hot like iron- so beware..
It has been 2 months in expectation of improvement.. but no improvement at all

After several read and analysis, bought this Lodge griddle. Very good finish, need to handle the weight and one should not touch the handle when cooking otherwise it will burn your hand, amazing non stick, require little seasoning.. we are making dosa everyday.. and fried eggs.. all came out easily.. added video..
Additional note:
Disappointed with delivery… I had to go to courier shop and picked up the product as I already paid huge delivery cost.. called Amazon customer care but no response to it.. reduced one star for this as it is Amazon not about the product.
